We started Save Alfreton Countryside to raise awareness of the huge solar park application from Kronos in January 2021. At the time, we along with many others had not been informed and knew nothing about it.

We are local residents living in Oakerthorpe, Alfreton, and Shirland who were all extremely concerned to hear of the proposed solar park plans. Since forming in January 2021 we have worked in our spare time to raise awareness and engage with other local residents to oppose the solar park which will dramatically impact our heritage, landscape, and biodiversity.
